SOME INFORMTION ON DOK KEOW CRUISE:
Dok Keow is 28 meters in length and best described as a mix of Lao tradition and Western style. Designed by Captain Jay, who has been designing and building private yachts for 15 years, Dok Keow is the culmination of that knowledge and experience. “Working with a Lao team we have built what we consider to be the premiere private riverboat here in Luang Prabang. It is fully furnished with all modern safety equipment and facilities; cabins, individual bathroom, shower, kitchen area, living room area and modern life jackets” said Captain Jay.
Using modern materials and building techniques, Dok Keow has been created as a luxury charter boat built for the Mekong that satisfies western requirements yet retains an authentic Lao feel.

DAY 01: LUANG PRABANG - ARRIVAL (-/-/-)
On arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to check in the hotel. The rest of the day is your own time at leisure. Overnight in Luang Prabang
Optional: Enjoy a private Baci ceremony after sunset at a local family. The Baci ceremony as a traditional ritual of the Lao people expresses the spirituality of the country and is a highly memorable experience and a deep insight into Lao culture for the participants.

DAY 02: LUANG PRABANG - PAK OU CAVES - OVERNIGHT ON BOARD (B/-/D)
Today, you will first visit Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts. From there, we ascend the 329 steps to the top of Phousi Hill for the panoramic view of the city and the Mekong River. We then visit the Traditional Art and Ethnology Center to learn about Laos’ many ethnic cultures. Our next stop is the old temple of Wat Sene before visiting the nearby magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture.
In the afternoon (around 1PM), we embark on the Dok Keow luxury cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside, before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the local rice wine.
At around 04PM, you come back to the boat to relax and having some snack while our staff set up the beach camp. You will then enjoy the romantic dinner on the sandy beach of Mekong River while listening to the sound of nature. Enjoy the luxury night on board

DAY 03: CRUISING SOUTH TO VISIT KUANG SI WATERFALLS (B/L/-)
Awake on board early today to admire the amazing sunrise over the Mekong River and mountains. After breakfast, we will take the cruise downstream the Mekong River back to Luang Prabang before continue southward to the authentic Lao village of Meuang Khai. Here we rendez-vous with private land transport followed by a short drive through the countryside to the former summer residence of Lao royalty at Kuang Si Falls.
We will stop at the butterfly park exhibit nearby to tour the beautiful gardens before moving on to enjoy the turquoise pools and stunning waterfalls. Kuang Si also hosts the charming International Bear Rescue Centre. Upon return to the boat we will moor for one hour at a quiet location for the lunch before returning to Luang Prabang. We will also make a short stop at Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, where we can have a short tour to learn more about traditional Lao silk and textile. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

DAY 04: LUANG PRABANG - DEPARTURE ( B/-/-)
You are free to stroll around the town for your own exploration before taking the departure flight.
